The group meetings :

On monday Rosie and ashleigh met up in Preston to discuss location ideas for our DO'S and DONT'S themed shoot. The final desicions was to have a series of images including location shots with a different theme for each shot.
 1. the first image will be of model going out with a friend(s) on a night out ..
I like the above images for ideas of how we could shoot that paticular scene as i think its important for us to get the right shot without it looking tacky and tasteless.

2. The second image we have decided to create a shot of the student coming home with a boy. However we dont know if we want the boy in the photo we might just have his hand or arm . we also want to have the model holding a can of beer  to illustrate the student life indepth.

Although the above images arent exactl;y what i explained we wanted but they do show the idea of theype of initmate shot we want.

3. Cooking food / eating take away..
I really like these images i found and thionk its a great example to show how the student life really is and its a tasteful way to use take away food in a shoot!

we have choosen to take an image of the model eating food as oppose to eating healthy meals which is what most students tend to do .

3. Time mangement.
Below are some images which i feel relate to time managment in student life..

As with all students most of them tend to struggle with time mangament so we have choosen to use this as another one of our ideas for a shot.

Final shoot Ideas..

We have come in a group which consists of : Myself , Ashleigh Upton , Rosie Walker and Racheal Hopley. We have discussed ideas and thoughts for a concept for our education themed shoot and after alot of ideas and thoughts we have decided to go for a student like theme following student life. Our initial idea was to go with a theme of ' you wouldn't go out like this so why come home like this'. Based on the NHS drinking adverts

However we wasan't to keen on this idea in the end so we have decided to go for a theme of the DO'S and DONTS of student life.

New Fashion Photography Project ......

We have been given a new brief for photography to create a series of pictures with an education theme so i am going to do some research and get some ideas for themes and props.

I have looked at the geek trend but it is to clich'e and obvious so im trying to get more ideas...

Then i looked at typical st Trinian , British school girl trend which is obvious but its quite tacky so i am not that keen on it however i do like the idea of putting my own twist on the trend like on the top picture.

Still Life Project...

I have just finished another brief for my styling course called Still Life Jigsaw. Basically we had to recreate a still life image which is a shoot using accesories taken from current trends for Spring / Summer 2011. I researched into the latest accesorie trends on websites such as Style.com and Wgsn . Out of all the trends i decided to go for the wicker / craft fayre trend to base my still life on.

Examples of Wicker / Craft fayre trend...
                                                           Luisa Beccaria

                                                           Elena Miro
                                                                Anna Sui
Designers abandoned ethnic tribal themes for next summer, and instead plumped for sweet and feminine springtime looks centred on a bucolic pastoral theme. Girly and unashamedly romantic, key items include espadrilles, basket bags, rope-tie sandals, floppy sunhats and floral corsages. As with apparel  look to rustic materials such as broderie anglaise, crochet, lace and macramé to add a hand-crafted appeal to items.

The reason i choose this trend is because i like the rustic vintage fell to it. I am also drawn to the romantic feminine style.

Guest Speaker..

We had a guest speaker come and visit us to do a talk. Her name was Siobhan Lyon who is now a freelance stylist. I really enjoyed listening to her talk about her job and was inspired by what she did and by her work. Although Siobhan has worked alongside different people and photographers most of the time she was working with Tim Walker as she was an assistant stylist to his partner...

                                                            Siobhan Lyons
Here is some of the shoots Siobhan has featured on and helped with ...

This was a Tim walker shoot for Harpers Bazaar which had a halloween theme featuring Tim Burton and Helena Bowen Carter.

I really like this shoot and themes Siobhan explained this was a big budget shoot and alot of hard work and effort went into it which you can clearly see from the end result.

Here our some of our final edits after post production...

Her our some of our final edits what heather has edited. I am really pleased with the outcome and i feel our idea to add a striped background has worked really well and give the pictures the final edge what we wanted.

Here we have edited the picture to show the different characters of the theme together. we have shown the the pretty and dark side together. I am really happy with this image.
